What it isn't
The pre-check is a guide, not a grade. A single phone photo can't replace the calibrated, multi-angle scan our rig runs on every card — focus, lighting and angle all change what one image can show. Treat it as a quick sense-check, not the final word. Your real, certified grade always comes from the physical measurement in our UK lab, and the pre-check never sees your card the way the rig does.
Getting a clean read
- Lay the card flat on a plain background — a dark surface for Pokémon, a light one for Lorcana — and fill the frame with a little space around the edges.
- Shoot straight down in even light, with no glare, shadows or reflections.
- Upload the front and read your estimate. If a clearer photo would help, the tool will tell you.
