If you sell cards on Whatnot, eBay Live or TikTok, every card in the post is a card you aren’t selling. Grading is worth it when buyers can trust the condition, but a wait of weeks between streams is stock sitting in a queue. This is what CALIBRE offers live sellers, how buyers check a grade on screen, and how to start.
What live sellers need from a grader
- Speed. Cards back before your next stream, not after it.
- One simple price that doesn’t change for holos, reverse holos or textured cards.
- A grade buyers can check in seconds, mid-auction, without taking your word for it.
- A UK address, so there’s no customs and no transatlantic transit.
The CALIBRE seller account
- £15 a card on a seller account, with no minimum order. (Our standard price for one-off orders is £25 a card.)
- Invoiced monthly. You send cards through the month and pay once, at the end of it, not every time you post a batch.
- Posted back within 7 days of arriving. On a seller account, the clock starts the day your cards reach us. It’s our target, not a guarantee.
- Free tracked return, covered up to £1,000.
- One rate for every card – holo, reverse holo, textured or secret rare.
- UK only. Your cards never leave the country.
Every seller account is approved by us before it is opened. Opening one is free and nothing is payable at sign-up.
How buyers check the grade on stream
Every card we grade is sealed in a serialised, tamper-evident slab with a QR code. Scanning it opens that card’s public report: the centering, corner, edge and surface measurements, with the images behind them. A buyer can also type the cert number into the CALIBRE registry. Both work on a phone while you’re live.
How a grade is made
A machine measures each card, then a person checks it by hand under calibrated light before it’s sealed. The report shows the numbers, so a buyer can see what the grade is based on rather than trusting a label.
How to start
- Open a seller account – tell us where you sell and roughly how many cards a month.
- We approve the account, set your seller rate and tell you how to send your first batch.
- Post your cards to us. We grade them and send them back within 7 days of arrival.
- List or show them with the report and QR cert alongside.
Check a card before you send it
Not sure which cards are worth grading? The free pre-check measures a card’s centering from a photo, which is the quickest way to rule out cards that won’t make the grade you want.
How the price compares
We keep a dated comparison of UK grading prices and turnaround, with each company’s own published pricing as the source: How much does card grading cost in the UK?
Common questions
Is there a minimum order? No.
Do holos and textured cards cost more? No. It’s the same rate for every card.
When does the 7 days start? On a seller account, the day your cards arrive with us, not the day you post them. It runs to the day we post them back.
Where do my cards go? They stay in the UK, from posting to return.
