CALIBRE is operated by
Calibre Grading Ltd ("CALIBRE", "we", "us",
"our"), registered in England and Wales (company number
17343831), registered office
66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA. These terms govern
your use of our website and grading service. By placing an order you
agree to them. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a
consumer.
2. Our service
CALIBRE grades trading cards using physical measurement (centering,
corners, edges, surface, and authentication checks) and returns each
card in a tamper-evident slab with a digital grading report. A grade is
our professional, measurement-based assessment of condition.
It is not a guarantee of authenticity beyond the checks performed, nor a
statement, prediction, or guarantee of a card's market or resale value.
3. Availability & capacity
Grading is open to all customers. We limit the number of cards we accept
at a time to protect turnaround times, so ordering may be temporarily
unavailable when that capacity is reached. We may limit, suspend, or
withdraw the service at our discretion.
4. Orders & acceptance
You must be 18 or over to place an order. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must place it for you.
An order is an offer to purchase. A contract forms when we confirm your order and/or take payment.
Prices are shown per card on our site in GBP and may change, but changes won't affect orders already placed.
Any payment due is taken securely via Stripe at checkout. An order that comes to £0 (such as a free first card) needs no payment. We may decline or cancel an order (e.g. suspected fraud, prohibited items, or pricing error), refunding any sum paid.
5. Postage and cover
Sending your cards to us: you arrange and pay for postage. Please use a tracked service so you have proof of postage. Until your parcel reaches us, it's at your risk, subject to your carrier's cover.
Pack each card in a sleeve and a top-loader or semi-rigid holder, inside a padded envelope or small box. Loss or damage caused by poor packing is your responsibility.
Return postage is free. We post your cards back by Royal Mail Tracked. If any card in the order has full-value cover, it comes back signed for.
When you order, you can tell us what each card is worth. This should be a fair market value for the card in its current condition, and we may ask for evidence of value (for example recent sold prices). If you don't give a value, we treat the card as worth £25.
Every card is covered on its way back to you against loss or theft, at the value you give it, up to £1,000 a card at no cost.
For a card worth more than £1,000 you can choose full-value cover at checkout. It costs 1.25% of the amount over £1,000, rounded up to the nearest 10p. Without it, that card is covered up to £1,000 on the way back.
Cover is limited to £2,500 per order unless we agree more with you in writing before you post.
We insure every return parcel with XCover, our shipping insurer, for the cover above. You don't need to deal with XCover yourself: if anything goes wrong, we make the claim and pay you.
The value you give is the most we will pay for a card lost or stolen on its way back to you. If you give a higher value than the card is worth, we pay its actual market value.
Cover in the post is for loss and theft. It does not cover marks, dents, scratches or bends that happen in transit.
If your returned parcel hasn't arrived, tell us within 14 days of the expected delivery date. We'll make the claim with our insurer and, once the insurer has settled it, pay you within 14 days.
6. Your responsibilities & warranties
By submitting cards you confirm that you own them or are authorised to submit them, that they are not stolen, and that you do not knowingly submit counterfeit cards. We may refuse to grade, and may report, items we reasonably believe to be stolen or counterfeit.
7. Turnaround times
Stated turnaround times (e.g. 7 calendar days) are targets measured from when we start grading - when your cards arrive, or 15 days after your order if you didn't ask us to start straight away - and are estimates, not guarantees. They may be affected by volume, card condition, or factors outside our control.
8. Care of your cards
We take reasonable care of your cards while they're with us. If a card is
lost or damaged in our care due to our fault, see the
Returns & Refunds policy for how claims work.
Cards in the post are covered as set out in section 5.
9. Cancellations & refunds
You have 14 days from your order to cancel. If you tick "Start grading as soon as my card arrives" at checkout, we start as soon as your cards arrive; if you then cancel, you pay for the work already done, and once grading is finished it can't be cancelled. If you don't tick it, we start grading 15 days after your order. Full details are in our Returns & Refunds policy.
10. Liability
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
Subject to the above, our total liability for any affected card is limited to £5,000 (or the card's fair market value if lower), and our liability for an order is limited as set out in the Returns policy.
We are not liable for a card's market value, future grade by another service, or losses that are not a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach.
11. Intellectual property
The website, grading reports, slab design, and CALIBRE branding are our intellectual property. You receive a personal licence to use the report for your own card; you may share it but not misrepresent or alter it.
12. Data protection
We handle personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
15. "Your first card, graded free" offer (October 2026)
Promoter: Calibre Grading Ltd (company no. 17343831), 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA.
The standard grading fee (£25) is waived for one card in an order. You pay your own postage to send the card to us; we post it back free and covered, as on every order (see section 5). Any other cards in the same order are £25 each.
For the first 25 orders that claim it. One per person and one per return address (household). UK return addresses only.
The offer closes at 23:59 UK time on Friday 16 October 2026, or when 25 have been claimed, whichever comes first.
It's applied automatically at checkout when you're eligible. Apart from the waived fee, these Terms apply in full.
16. Seller accounts
Seller accounts are for businesses and traders (for example people who sell cards on live streams or marketplaces) that we have approved. By holding one you confirm that you order in the course of a business, not as a consumer.
An approved seller pays the seller rate shown in their account and may place orders on account up to the credit limit we set. Orders placed on account are collected on one invoice each month, payable within the payment terms shown on it (14 days unless we agree otherwise), by bank transfer or the payment link on the invoice.
We may change a credit limit, require payment by card, or pause on-account ordering at any time, including while an invoice is overdue. Overdue invoices may carry statutory interest and compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
Because a seller account is a trade account, we start grading as soon as your cards arrive and the 14-day consumer cancellation period in section 9 does not apply. Until grading starts you can ask us to cancel an order and we will take it off your invoice.
The seller rate can't be combined with discount codes or the "first card, graded free" offer in section 15. Everything else in these Terms, including cover and liability (sections 5 and 10) and our Returns & Refunds policy, applies to seller orders.
